Ken Smith, Senior Vice President Business Development
& Proposal Management

In his role as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Proposal Management, Ken Smith is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing best practices designed to support Dovel’s rapid growth.  He is responsible for establishing a more structured business development pursuit process and working with a select team of Dovèl Technologists to evaluate industry trends and build differentiated technology service offerings.

Bringing nearly 25 years’ experience in the information technology industry, Smith has vast experience which includes systems engineering, software development, business development, along with operations and contract management.  He has successfully led key acquisitions, serving as the strategic Capture Manager on “Must Win” opportunities with a highly successful win rate.  His client experience spans the Department of Defense, Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, and the State Department.

Prior to joining Dovel, Smith provided senior leadership and managed the day-to-day operations of the BD organization at Apptis and Apogen Technologies.

Ken studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Memphis and is a decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy.
